Silicon breast models are used during our breast health seminars to help students learn what tumors feel like.
With the new addition of breast health educator Genesis Bayuelo, The Maurer Foundation is now able to offer breast health programs in Spanish. In addition to the verbal presentation portion of the program, the breast health charts and pamphlets handed out the students will also be available in Spanish.
The Maurer Foundation breast health programs are forty-minute presentations promoting the role of lifestyle changes in reducing the risk of breast cancer. The program reinforces regular exercise and proper nutrition and encourages attendees to pay attention to food choices, fat intake, portion sizes and information contained on food product packaging. Students are also given the unique opportunity to practice proper breast self-examination on silicone breast models.
Our highly trained educators help dispel breast cancer myths, fears and inhibitions regarding breast cancer. By the end of the lesson, we have planted a seed of knowledge that will help save lives.
