Pink Bowl Raises Over $10,000 For Breast Health Education

Nineteen teams of enthusiastic bowlers braved the wintry mix of snow and sleet and heated up the lanes with their competitive spirit at The Maurer Foundation’s 8th Annual Pink Bowl on Sunday, February 12th. The bowling fundraiser held at Bowlmor Lanes in Melville, was once again sponsored by Sperry Federal Credit Union and raised over $10,000 for breast health education programs on Long Island.

Bowlers got into the spirit by coming up with some creative team names, including “I Can’t Believe it’s Not Gutter” and “Spare Me.” Many groups showed their team pride by sporting matching shirts. A 50/50 and gift basket raffle drew a large amount of attention, as did two Valentine themed baskets and tickets to a Ranger vs. Islander game at Madison Square Garden.

A huge thank you to all those who participated! Congratulations to the winning bank team, Branch Out, from Sperry FCU and to Charles Schwab, the winning non-bank team. Also congratulations are in order for Scott Alers from Charles Schwab, who received the award for Best Male Bowler, and Minnie Nevins, Best Female Bowler.

We look forward to bowling with all of you again next year! To stay up-to-date on Pink Bowl news and get notifications on next year’s event, subscribe to our bowling list.
