One in eight women will develop breast cancer! Our Educational Outreach Program teaches what you can do to reduce your risk and how to do a proper breast self-exam. Our program helps dispel myths and fears about this devastating illness. This program is conducted onsite at high schools, colleges, community group meetings and businesses. We bring these life-saving messages to you!

Volunteer

Have you been looking for something to do to get you out of the house for a few hours; away from the TV and off the couch, or maybe you feel yourself sinking into a rut and are in need of a change? Well, have we got something in mind for you!

The Maurer Foundation is in need of volunteers. Like most not-for-profit organizations, we couldn’t continue our mission without the support and manpower from dedicated and hardworking volunteers. We’re talking some fun and meaningful work to leave you feeling fulfilled and motivated!

The Maurer Foundation is currently looking for general year-round help or you can serve on one of our fun and dynamic event committees. You even make your own schedule.

Join Us In Our Office A Few Hours A Week (ongoing)

  • Filing
  • Computer work (computer literate individuals especially needed)
  • Completing bulk mailings (stuffing & labeling envelopes)
  • Placing follow up calls to vendors
  • Placing follow up calls to Maurer Foundation supporters
  • Taking inventory of program and event materials.

Flamingo Bowl (every March)

  • Gather in-kind gifts for our raffle & silent auction
  • Recruit bowlers & sponsorships
  • The day of event, set up and/or break down
  • Selling raffle tickets the day of the event

Pink Diamond Dinner (every June)

  • Gather in-kind gifts for our Casino night, raffles & silent auction
  • Making calls
  • The day of event, set up and/or break down
  • Selling raffle tickets the day of the event

Golf Classic (every May)

  • Gather in-kind gifts for our raffle & silent auction
  • Recruit golfers & sponsorships
  • The day of event, set up and/or break down
  • Selling raffle tickets the day of the event

Blogger (ongoing, from your home)

  • Write blog posts in your field of interest: exercise, health, education, nutrition, and more
  • Full credit given

Photographer (ongoing, various Long Island locations)

  • Take photos at fundraising events like our Pink Diamond Dinner and Flamingo Bowl
  • Take photos at our breast health programs
  • Take photos for our website
  • Full credit given!
  • Use our camera or yours
