Melville, NY, February 12, 2020: The Maurer Foundation held its 11th Annual Pink Bowl event on Sunday, February 09, 2020 at Bowlmor Lanes in Melville. As the foundation celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, the event had exceptional attendance with almost 120 bowlers, and succeeded in raising over $15,000 for breast health education.
For the sixth year in a row, the Pink Bowl was sponsored by Sperry Associates Federal Credit Union based in Garden City Park. “We see the vital role that the Maurer Foundation achieves and that is teaching young adults in high school about breast health and self-diagnosis,” stated Kevin Healy, Sperry’s CEO. “We here at Sperry are always proud to support their mission”.
Families and friends enjoyed a fun filled day with twenty-nine teams competing to win the prizes. Sperry’s team “Lane of Credit” won the first prize for the highest team score and “Homemade Jam” came in second place. Best female bowler Nancy Foran-Pinzon from Signature Bank and best male bowler James Hood from Nawrocki Smith both won individual prizes with scores of 189.
