The Athleta “Ladies Night Out” fundraiser enjoyed an impressive showing of guests who took part in shopping and many other highlights in a celebratory atmosphere that benefited The Maurer Foundation’s breast health education programs.

The Athleta Ladies Night Out shopping fundraiser, which took place on Tuesday, September 10th, 2013 at the Manhasset, NY Athleta store was a great success, raising $760 for The Maurer Foundation’s breast health education programs! An impressive showing of guests came out to enjoy private shopping at the women’s fitness apparel store. The celebratory atmosphere was complete with music, decorations, smiles, mingling and people making a difference.

Over $5,000 worth of fitness apparel was purchased, and 10% of sales were donated to The Maurer Foundation to support their life-saving mission. Sales from raffle tickets contributed to the total amount raised as well. These funds will support the breast cancer workshops that the foundation delivers to businesses, schools, organizations and communities in an effort to help prevent  breast cancer and increase chances of survival through early detection.

The fundraiser included a variety of exciting features, many of which supported the focus on healthy lifestyle choices such as exercise and proper nutrition, which can help reduce the risk factors for breast cancerMassage Envy provided free chair massages and Sephora offered free makeup application, Whole Foods served free refreshments and www.ginnybakes.com provided gluten- and GMO-free cookies. Raffle baskets were a popular attraction, with gift certificates and products from Athleta, Sephora, Massage Envy, and Long Island Plastic Surgical Group – a long-time supporter of the Foundation.

Representatives from the The Maurer Foundation were on-hand at their table, which displayed silicone breast models, take-home breast self-exam cards,mammogram and breast self-exam reminder forms, a video about their mission and more.

The foundation always welcomes opportunities to be a charity partner with local and regional business events and promotions. Contact us to arrange a fundraiser in collaboration with your store or company or read about some of the past fundraisers we’ve organized.
