A huge thank you to the 50 attendees who took part in The Maurer Foundation’s Cocktails for a Cause event on January 31st at Havana Central in Garden City. The evening raised more than $1,500 to help support breast health education here on Long Island.
Organized by our dedicated Young Professional Committee, the evening featured delicious appetizers, fabulous raffle prizes, and interesting conversation amongst Long Island’s up-and-coming professionals.
Our founder, Dr. Virginia Maurer, was amongst the evening’s guests, who were also treated to a mini version of our breast health program. Attendees actually got to see the breast models we utilize in our classes and were taught proper breast self-exam methods by our executive director, Susan Samaroo.
