Our 5th Annual Flamingo Bowl was held on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Bowlmor in Melville, Long Island. We had nearly 100 bowlers and volunteers come out to support the foundation and everyone had a great time!
A friendly bowling competition ensued with prizes awarded to our top bowlers. Greg St. Germain of AVZ Accounting won a NY Jets laser signed football while Minnie Nivens won a $100 Steve Madden gift card. All of our bowling teams also rose to the occasion in support and spirit! Our top fundraising team, The Roy Munsen’s from Signature Bank collectively raised an impressive $3600 and were awarded with 2 hours of bowling for 10 at Bowlmor and $150 in catering from Garden City Pizza.
Pizza and drinks were served, a 50/50 raffle and gift basket raffle drew a large amount of attention while our pink and white cookies were sold with all proceeds going to the foundation’s free breast health education programs.
“It was great to see everyone come out to support us,” stated Maurer Foundation Executive Director Susan Samaroo. “The Flamingo Bowl is so successful because everyone really enjoys a casual fun afternoon out with friends. We appreciate our guests that return every year and love welcoming new supporters of this wonderful cause.”
