May 8, 2014 – Jericho, NY: The Maurer Foundation hosted its 19th Annual Golf Classic at the Meadowbrook Club in Jericho, Long Island, NY. Netting well over $100,000, the event was a huge success. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Maurer Foundation’s breast health education programs for Long Island and New York City schools, businesses and community groups.
Golfers spent the day on the beautiful Meadowbrook Club golf course followed by a cocktail reception from 5-7:30pm, which included awards earned by the day’s golfers, a silent auction and raffle prizes.
Former New York Jet, John Schmitt attended for the second year in a row as Master of Ceremonies. Golfers had the chance to tee off with Schmitt in the Golf Classic’s Beat the Pro contest held at the ninth hole.
