Pink Bowl Raises Almost $12,000 For Breast Health Education

Melville, NY, March 19, 2018: The Maurer Foundation was proud to host 90 bowlers for their annual Pink Bowl event, which raised almost $12,000 for breast health education here on Long Island. The 9th annual bowling fundraiser was held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Bowlmor Lanes in Melville.

The event was sponsored by Sperry Federal Credit Union based in Garden City Park for the fourth year in a row. Twenty-two teams brought their competitive spirit, many sporting matching team t-shirts, ready for an exciting evening on the lanes. First place honors were awarded to Sperry FCU’s team “Branch Out” for the high team score. After a tight race, Tom Mazzini from TD Bank’s team “The Green Machine” won the Best Male Bowler award. Best Female Bowler was awarded again this year to Minnie Nevins from team “Gutter Girls.”

All participants were enthusiastic in their support both on the lanes and through raffles. A signed NY Islander Jersey, a potpourri of community theatre and restaurant gift certificates and tickets to Wicked on Broadway were the most sought after baskets.

Kevin Healy, CEO of Sperry Federal Credit Union stated, “We are very happy to continue to support The Maurer Foundation’s important and worthy cause! Our Credit Union is built upon giving back to the community, so this event gave us an opportunity to again support The Maurer Foundation and also enjoy an evening of bowling fun with our employees and their families.”

A special thanks to Bowlmor Lanes in Melville, as well as all the sponsors for helping to make this event successful: Sperry Federal Credit Union, Signature Bank, TD Bank, Santander Bank, AVZ Certified Public Accountants, Mary Trebinski, Dr. Kathy & Mr. Michael Weiss and V.T. Mancusi.
