The Maurer Foundation is proud to announce our participation in the upcoming all-girls lacrosse tournament and fundraiser, LAX for M.e. & the GALS. The tournament will take place on Sunday, October 27th at Smithtown High School East in St. James, NY. Proceeds will benefit both the Maurer Foundation’s breast health education and the Girls Athletic League of Smithtown (GALS).
On Friday, September 13, the Women’s Fund of Long Island and the Maurer Foundation are partnering to present a special breast cancer workshop.
The Maurer Foundation is collaborating with the Athleta fitness apparel store in Manhasset for a “Ladies Night Out” on September 10, 2013, 6:30-8:30 pm. The evening will benefit the foundation’s breast health education programs.
During September and October, FAT bastard will donate 25 cents for every bottle of FAT bastard sold in restaurants and retail locations.
Research shows that breast cancer is up to four to five times more likely to occur in a woman with very dense breasts than one without.
The Maurer Foundation applauds the inclusion of genetic testing for BRCA1 and BRCA2 under the Affordable Care Act.
