The Maurer Foundation And J. Kings Promote Breast Cancer Awareness With Pink And White Cookies

Mineola, NY October, 2009—The Maurer Foundation and J. Kings are inviting customers and supporters to join in the fight against breast cancer by enjoying delicious cookies during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month through the Great Meals Great Cause Great Neighbors Campaign.

With a $2 donation to The Maurer Foundation for Breast Health Education, you will receive a signature pink and white cookie (similar to the traditional black and white cookie) at participating vendors of the Great Meals Great Cause Great Neighbors Campaign and events affiliated with breast cancer awareness and The Maurer Foundation.

J. Kings is a Long Island company supporting the community by servicing local chefs, cooks and caterers and engaging in over $41,000,000 in annual sales with local farms, bakers, meat companies, and other vendors. For the entire month of October, J. Kings is working with The Maurer Foundation by asking its customers to participate in the Great Meals Great Cause Great Neighbors Campaign.

“On Long Island we have the state’s highest rate of breast cancer, for that reason, The Maurer Foundation and J. Kings are working together to save lives through breast health education” states Libby Zimmer, executive director of The Maurer Foundation. “We are honored to be working with such an outstanding company to build awareness of this devastating disease.”
