Fundraisers Get Creative For Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October

When it comes to promoting breast health education, Maurer Foundation supporters have shown their imagination and generosity know no bounds.

To celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Huntington Honda donated $10 to the Maurer Foundation for every vehicle test drive at their main showroom and Certi-Care showrooms, totalling $5,000. Our friends at East Islip Fitness held a Zumba event and raised $420 from class attendees. ClearVision Optical in Hauppauge, who supported us for the second year in a row, raised $3,134 by hosting a number of fundraisers, including a pink lemonade stand, a Booby Boutique, and a breast cancer balloon dart game. St. John the Baptist H.S. held a Powder Puff volleyball game to raise money for the Foundation. Dan’s Dog Walking & Pet Sitting hosted their third annual Paws For A Cause event, selling special pink paw t-shirts and accepting donations on our behalf.

In addition, many generous organizations donated their time to sell our trademark pink and white cookies including: Festo Corporation, Biodex Medical Systems, Annastasia Salon, Synergy Fitness Club, Dr. Maurer’s office, AVZ Certified Public Accountants, Eastern Suffolk BOCES, Locust Valley Schools, and Anthony DeFranco Salon and Spa.

Thank you to all our champions—your enthusiasm and support continue to inspire us!
